Testimony by Gideon

I come from a broken family, during my younger age I was rebellious and ended up joining the SS group, and from them I was introduced to drugs.

At the early age of 14 I was badly addicted to heroine, and hence never stop going in and out of prison (6 times). To make things worst, I got my self hooked on (subutex), ironically this drug was meant to help me with my drug addiction, and because of my curious and stubborn nature, I had almost lost my leg, due to the constant administering, intravenously of that potent drug. Part of my leg became partially paralyzed. Fear gripped me and I almost ended my life. I was arrested and sent to a specialist who was pessimistic of my condition, and said that I would probably walk with a limp for life.

Immediately the thought of suicide filled my mind, I was sort of debating with myself and ended up challenging God with a prayer, I said, “God if you are the real truing God, see to my situation now and heal me and I will dedicate my life to you.” Six months later God healed my leg totally and at the same time during my prison term, He made sure that I spent time with Him, thus the Faith Base Program to know more of His word, to build that relationship that I had promised Him. I knew that God had kept His promise to me. My healing was made possible because of His grace. “Not by might, not by power, but my Spirit says the Lord.” Till this day my strength comes from God who walks me through my recovery on this road of life. All honor and glory to the one God who has made me whole.
